Recognizing Our 2018 Scholarship Winners

The new year has arrived and we would like to reflect on 2018 by taking a look at our 2018 Ohio No-Till Council scholarship winners! These two determined women are the future of our agricultural and environmental world! Check out their biographies below!

Alyssa McQuiston

Alyssa grew up on a corn/soybean farm and cattle farm in Camden. She is currently attending Oklahoma State University for animal science. After graduation, she plans to obtain a job as an agriculture educator/FFA adviser at a high school. Later on, Alyssa hopes to become involved within international agriculture by working with underdeveloped countries and helping to grow and better their agriculture industries.

In addition to helping on her family farm, Alyssa is also involved in Collegiate FFA and Collegiate Farm Bureau. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

Natalie Rettig

Natalie grew up on her family farm- New Vision Farms– in Napoleon, Ohio. They grow popcorn, green beans, corn, soybeans, and wheat. She graduated from Napoleon High School and is currently a freshman at The Ohio State University majoring in agribusiness. After obtaining her degree, Natalie plans on searching for a job in agricultural finance, either in northwestern Ohio or northeastern Indiana.

“I think it will be beneficial to gain a couple years of experience elsewhere before I ultimately return to the family farm.”

Natalie enjoys reading, fishing, and being immersed in nature. She also enjoys traveling, as she was able to gain new experiences when she studied abroad in Brazil!

ONTC wishes our award recipients the best of luck in their new future endeavors! If you are attending college this fall and are the child or grandchild of a farming family, we urge you to apply for our ONTC Scholarship!
