Bench Donated Honoring Dave Brandt

Dave Brandt has been farming without tillage since 1971, and first added cover crops to his farm in 1978. Without a doubt, an amazing no-till legacy for the Fairfield County farmer.

On September 19th, 2017,  the Ohio No-Till Council recognized his continuing contributions with the presentation of a special bench at the Farm Science Review. The inscription cut into the boards that form the back of the bench reads, “Honoring David Brandt for 14 years of service as President of the Ohio No-Till Council.” The 8-foot bench will be at Farm Science Review for many, many years for attendees to enjoy.

The current president of the Ohio No-Till Council, Jan Layman, could not attend the ceremony. Instead, Randall Reeder was asked to share the following comments:

“Dave has been an active part of the Council for much longer than 14 years. He has been an educator and mentor to countless farmers all over the world. He is a renowned speaker, known across the country as well as Europe; always willing to give his time and energy when someone has a question. He has hosted many field days and tours, including NRCS leaders and technicians, and agricultural leaders from France.”

Thank you Dave for your dedication towards healthy soils!
